Description

What: For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph are creating areas of blowing snow, especially near Lake Superior. For the Winter Storm Watch, blizzard conditions possible. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 3 feet possible. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph.
Where: Alger, Luce, Northern Schoolcraft, and Southern Schoolcraft Counties.
When: For the Winter Storm Warning, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the Winter Storm Watch, from late Saturday night through Tuesday morning.
Impacts: Travel could be very difficult this afternoon to potentially impossible Sunday into Monday. Blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday evening and Monday commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
Additional Details: Power outages are possible early next week due to the strong winds.

Description

What: Minor lakeshore flooding with wave heights of up to 10 feet possible.
Where: Delta and Southern Schoolcraft Counties.
When: Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.
Impacts: Some water on low lying roads and property along the lakeshore.
Additional Details: This includes the Garden Peninsula of Delta County. Lakeshore flooding is not expected along the Green Bay shoreline.

Action Recommandée

Residents on or near the shore should take appropriate action to protect property from rising water levels.
