Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of southeast Florida, including the following county, Palm Beach.
When: Until 815 AM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 719 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Boca Raton and Highland Beach. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Action Recommandée

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Description

What: Dangerous rip currents expected.
Where: Coastal Palm Beach County, Coastal Broward County and Coastal Miami Dade County.
When: From Tuesday evening through Thursday evening.
Impacts: Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

Action Recommandée

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
