Description

At 757 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles northeast of Kenna to near Julian. Movement was east at 30 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Fayetteville, Clay, Oak Hill, Montgomery, Chesapeake, Marmet, Ansted, Belle, Clendenin, Cedar Grove, East Bank, Glasgow, Smithers, Gauley Bridge, Pratt, Van, Arnoldsburg, Burnwell, Powellton, and Glen. This includes the following highway
S: Interstate 79 between mile markers 20 and 54. West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 63 and 91. Route 19 between mile markers 15 and 19.

Action Recommandée

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for central, southern, southeastern and north central West Virginia.
