TORNADO WATCH 294 REMAINS VALID UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN SOUTH DAKOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA BUFFALO HAND IN NORTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA EDMUNDS FAULK MCPHERSON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF EUREKA, FAULKTON, FORT THOMPSON, IPSWICH, AND MILLER.

Description

At 1052 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles northeast of Vayland, or 13 miles east of Miller, moving east at 45 mph.
Hazard: 70 mph wind gusts.
Source: Trained weather spotters.
Impact: Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of Hand and northeastern Buffalo Counties.

Action Recommandée

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for central and north central South Dakota. This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. This storm is producing widespread wind damage across Hand County. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
