The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Red Flag Warning for western Oklahoma and adjacent north Texas, which is in effect from 1 PM to 10 PM CDT Saturday.
Winds: South 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
Relative Humidity: As low as 10 percent.
Temperatures: Up to 103.
Impacts: Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Fire Environment: 7 (out of 10).

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will contribute to extreme fire behavior.

At 720 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking several showers and thunderstorms across west central and southwestern Oklahoma. Strong winds over 50 mph will be possible with these showers and storms despite producing little rainfall and lightning. These showers and storms were moving east at 25 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Elk City, Weatherford, Clinton, Sayre, Hobart, Mangum, Cordell, Hollis, Granite, Burns Flat, Erick, Sentinel, Blair, Arapaho, Mountain View, Dill City, Canute, Corn, Lone Wolf, and Carter.
