Tangipahoa River At Osyka affecting Pike County. Tangipahoa River Near Robert affecting Tangipahoa Parish. Bogue Chitto River Near Bush affecting St. Tammany Parish. For the Tickfaw Riverincluding Liverpool, Holden, Montpelier Minor flooding is forecast. For the Tangipahoa Riverincluding Osyka, Kentwood, Robert Moderate flooding is forecast. For the Bogue Chitto Riverincluding Tylertown, Franklinton, BushMajor flooding is forecast.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Tickfaw River near Montpelier.
When: From Monday morning to early Wednesday afternoon.
Impacts: At 15.0 feet, Woodlands and farmland near the river will be inundated. Livestock and farm equipment should be moved to higher ground.
Additional Details: - At 10:30 AM CST Sunday the stage was 8.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 15.0 feet Tuesday morning. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car.
