Alerte des crues éclair

Émis à ven. 11:38 janv.. 9
Publié par : National Weather Service
Description

What: Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
Where: Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Georgia, including the following counties, in north central Georgia, Cherokee, Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Pickens and Union. In northeast Georgia, Towns and White. In northwest Georgia, Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Polk, Walker and Whitfield.
When: Through Saturday evening.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Additional Details: - Multiple rounds of rainfall are expected to impact portions of north Georgia through the afternoon on Saturday when a front will move through ending the threat. Widespread 2-3" of rain with locally higher amounts of 4+" will be possible. Convective rainfall (thunderstorms) will be possible overnight into the early morning ahead of the front, which may have locally heavy enough rainfall rates to induce flash flooding in poor drainage areas and creeks and streams prone to flash flooding given the antecedent rainfall. Larger stem riverine flooding is not anticipated given the ongoing drought and low base state these rivers are starting from. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
