What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Southwestern Cochise County in southeastern Arizona
When: Until 800 AM MST Thursday.
Impacts: Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.
Additional Details: - At 1258 AM MST, Very heavy rainfall fell across a wide area this evening. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.2 inches are expected over the area. Expect washes to drain into the San Pedro and other larger washes. Expect rapid rises and swift flows within washes overnight. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Benson, Whetstone, Huachuca City, St. David, Tombstone, Fort Huachuca, Fairbank and Charleston. - This includes the following highway
S: Route 90 between mile markers 306 and 316and between mile markers 325 and 333. Route 80 between mile markers 293 and 328. Interstate 10 between mile markers 306 and 307. Route 82 between mile markers 46 and 67. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
