THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 436 IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM CDT THURSDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN WISCONSIN THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL WISCONSIN WAUSHARA IN EAST CENTRAL WISCONSIN CALUMET MANITOWOC WINNEBAGO THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF AURORAVILLE, BORTH, DUNDAS, MANITOWOC, MENASHA, NEENAH, NORTHERN LAKE WINNEBAGO, OSHKOSH, POINT BEACH STATE PARK, SHOTO, SILVER LAKE, TWO RIVERS, WAUTOMA, WINNEBAGO, AND WITTMAN FIELD.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Calumet County in east central Wisconsin Manitowoc County in east central Wisconsin Southern Winnebago County in east central Wisconsin Southeastern Brown County in northeastern Wisconsin Kewaunee County in northeastern Wisconsin
When: Until 500 AM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 1203 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Oshkosh, Manitowoc, Kewaunee, Chilton, Algoma, Brillion, Luxemburg, Denmark, Cleveland, Valders, St. Nazianz, Two Creeks, Camp Rokilio Scout Camp, St Anna, Central Lake Winnebago, Rush Lake, Two Rivers, Kiel and New Holstein. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Description

At 1217 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from near Darboy to 15 miles southeast of Rush Lake, or along a line from 5 miles southeast of Appleton to 19 miles south of Oshkosh, moving east at 40 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe thunderstorm will be near Central Lake Winnebago, Northern Lake Winnebago, High Cliff State Park, Appleton and Menasha around 1220 AM CDT. Chilton around 1230 AM CDT. Brillion and St Anna around 1240 AM CDT. Other locations impacted by the severe thunderstorm include Stockbridge, Harrison, Black Wolf Point, Uw Fox Valley, Neenah, Brothertown, Kloten, Quinney, Sherwood and Jericho.

Action Recommandée

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
