What: Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 106 expected.
Where: The Champlain Valley of New York and Vermont, as well as eastern Windsor county in Vermont.
When: From noon Wednesday to 7 PM EDT Friday.
Impacts: Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
Additional Details: The highest heat index values will occur between 1 PM and 5 PM daily from Wednesday through Friday.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
