Areas of locally dense fog have developed across the Virginia Piedmont and interior portions of northeast North Carolina this morning. Visibility will generally be reduced to one half to one mile, but will locally be reduced to a quarter mile or less. The fog should lift by 10 AM. Motorists should be alert for sudden changes in visibility due to the areas of dense fog. Drive at reduced speeds, watch for children at school bus stops, and use low beam headlights only.
