Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing.
Where: Northwestern Johnson County in east Tennessee Southwestern Russell County in southwestern Virginia Northeastern Scott County in southwestern Virginia Central Washington County in southwestern Virginia Southeastern Wise County in southwestern Virginia
When: Until 1045 PM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 820 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Abingdon, Glade Spring, Lindell, Holston, Emory-Meadowview, Hansonville, Castlewood and Konnarock. - This includes Interstate 81 in Virginia between mile markers 17 and 34. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
