Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Texa
S: Neches River Near Alto affecting Cherokee, Houston, Anderson and Angelina Counties. For the Neches Riverincluding Neches, Alto, Diboll, Rockland Minor flooding is forecast.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Neches River near Alto.
When: Until Tuesday afternoon.
Impacts: At 18.0 feet, Expect moderate to severe flooding of the heavily wooded floodplain. Boat ramps and picnic areas will be completely inundated.
Additional Details: - At 8:15 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 17.2 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:15 PM CDT Saturday was 17.2 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.2 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday morning. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 17.2 feet on 03/19/1970. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Do not drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
