TORNADO WATCH 294 REMAINS VALID UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT /11 PM MDT/ TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN SOUTH DAKOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 16 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA BUFFALO HAND HUGHES HYDE JONES LYMAN STANLEY SULLY IN NORTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA CAMPBELL CORSON DEWEY EDMUNDS FAULK MCPHERSON POTTER WALWORTH THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF EUREKA, FAULKTON, FORT PIERRE, FORT THOMPSON, GETTYSBURG, HERREID, HIGHMORE, IPSWICH, ISABEL, KENNEBEC, MCINTOSH, MILLER, MOBRIDGE, MURDO, ONIDA, AND PIERRE.

Description

At 928 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Rousseau, or 10 miles east of Pierre, moving northeast at 20 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
Source: Emergency management.
Impact: Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Pierre, Rousseau, and Canning.

Action Recommandée

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for central South Dakota. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
