Description

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northeastern Pushmataha County in southeastern Oklahoma South central Latimer County in southeastern Oklahoma Southwestern Le Flore County in southeastern Oklahoma Until 645 PM CDT. At 558 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Talihina, moving east at 15 mph.
Hazard: Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
Source: Emergency management.
Impact: People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations in or near the path include Talihina Albion Whitesboro Talimena State Park Muse

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for southeastern Oklahoma.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 141 IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN OKLAHOMA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA CHOCTAW LATIMER LE FLORE PITTSBURG PUSHMATAHA THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ANTLERS, CLAYTON, HUGO, MCALESTER, POTEAU, AND WILBURTON.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of southeast Oklahoma, including the following counties, Latimer, Le Flore, Pittsburg and Pushmataha.
When: Until 900 PM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 546 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Mcalester Poteau Wilburton Clayton Heavener Hartshorne Kreb

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
