What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.
Where: Southeastern Lincoln County in central New Mexico Central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico
When: Until 345 PM MDT.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
Additional Details: - At 950 AM MDT, New Mexico DOT reported NM Highway 246 is inundated with water and is impassable between mile marker 9 and 73. Flooding is already occurring. - Heavy rainfall that occurred over the past 24 hours will lead to inundation of low water crossings in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Arabela. - This includes NM Highway 246 west of Roswell and NM Highway 368. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
