THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 205 IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM CDT SATURDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MINNESOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA FARIBAULT FREEBORN MARTIN STEELE WASECA THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALBERT LEA, BLUE EARTH, FAIRMONT, OWATONNA, AND WASECA.

Description

At 646 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Delavan, or 24 miles northeast of Fairmont, moving northeast at 30 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Delavan, Easton, Minnesota Lake and Mapleton.

Action Recommandée

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large hail.
