THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 295 IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS CLAY CLOUD OTTAWA REPUBLIC WASHINGTON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BELLEVILLE, BENNINGTON, CLAY CENTER, CLIFTON, CONCORDIA, GREENLEAF, HANOVER, LINN, MINNEAPOLIS, AND WASHINGTON.

Description

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansa
S: Salt Creek near Ada affecting Ottawa County.
What: Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record.
Where: Salt Creek near Ada.
When: Until early Sunday afternoon.
Impacts: At 18.0 feet, Minor low land flooding along the Salt Creek. At 20.0 feet, 50th Road just south of the bridge over the Salt Creek floods. At 20.2 feet, Deck of 50th Road bridge over the Salt Creek floods. At 21.0 feet, Flood waters are over one half mile wide over cultivated farm land 3 miles east southeast of the town of Ada.
Additional Details: - At 7:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 21.4 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.6 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
