Where: Portions of northeast Illinois, including the following counties, Cook and Will and northwest Indiana, including the following county, Lake IN.
When: Until 130 PM CDT.
Impacts: Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Additional Details: - At 1037 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain fell due to thunderstorms. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Joliet, Hammond, Gary, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Romeoville, Plainfield, Calumet City, Portage, Merrillville, Chicago Heights, East Chicago, Schererville, Hobart, Lansing, Oak Forest, Crown Point, Harvey, Lockport and New Lenox. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
