What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Northeastern Mills County in southwestern Iowa South Central Pottawattamie County in southwestern Iowa
When: Until 800 AM CDT Friday.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
Additional Details: - At 757 PM CDT, the river gage along the West Nishnabotna River near Henderson reports rising water exceeding minor flood stage. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain fell in the area last night. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include areas near the West Nishnabotna River from Carson to Macedonia to Henderson to Hastings, and Old Town Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
