THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 646 TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AREAS UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT IN OHIO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OHIO ASHTABULA IN PENNSYLVANIA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA ERIE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ASHTABULA, CONNEAUT, ERIE, AND GENEVA.

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Erie County in northwestern Pennsylvania
When: Until 215 AM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 1019 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Erie, Corry, North East, Union City, Girard, Waterford, Wattsburg, Northwest Harborcreek, Harborcreek, Lawrence Park, Wesleyville, Lake City, Platea, McKean, Elgin, Northwest Harborcr and Avonia. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information.

Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Locations impacted include Erie, Corry, Edinboro, North East, Union City, Waterford, Wattsburg, Northwest Harborcreek, Harborcreek, Lawrence Park, Wesleyville, Mill Village, McKean, Elgin, Northwest Harborcr, and Avonia.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
