Description

At 1250 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 13 miles east of Valentine National Wildlife Refuge to 14 miles north of Elsmere to 10 miles north of Dunning, moving northeast at 60 mph.
Hazard: 70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include Ainsworth, Halsey, Johnstown, Purdum, Elsmere, Wood Lake, Hofeld Lake, Raven, Moon Lake, Hawley Flats, Willow Lake State Wildlife Management Area, Long Lake State Wildlife Management Area, Highway 83 crossing the North Loup River, Koshopah, Jones Lake, Johnsons Corner, and Highway 83 crossing Goose Creek. This includes the following highway
S: Highway 20 between mile markers 217 and 244. Highway 2 between mile markers 224 and 232. Highway 83 between mile markers 164 and 189.
