Description

Hot and humid conditions will be in place again across the entire area this afternoon into the early evening, with heat indices forecast between 95 to 100 degrees. Some isolated locations will have heat indices above 100 degrees for a few hours. If you plan to be outdoors for an extended period of time, make sure to drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun, and take frequent breaks. Conditions should improve after 8 PM this evening.

Description

What: Heat index values in the low to mid 100s expected.
Where: Portions of west central Illinois, southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.
When: From noon to 7 PM CDT Saturday.
Impacts: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Additional Details: This advisory may be extended northward depending on the timing of a cold front tomorrow.

Action Recommandée

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
